Charley Hull will play an integral role for Team Europe this week in Gleneagles, six years from announcing herself to the world on her Solheim Cup debut.
Hull was one of six rookies in Liselotte Neumann’s facet in Colorado, in which the-then 17-year-old played a substantial portion in a record-breaking 18-10 success for Europe.
The Englishwoman dropped her opening match but combined forces with fellow debutant Jodi Ewart Shadoff to watch experienced duo Paula Creamer and Lexi Thompson a day afterwards, as Europe maintained a clean-sweep from the Saturday fourballs.
Hull was delivered out early to confront Creamer again in the Sunday singles, even where the teenager dominated to claiming a convincing 5 & 5 win and also help Europe to a first win on away dirt throughout.
The triumph was Europe’s first of the afternoon and among 7.5 points gained from the visitors during an impressive final day, with Hull going to be an automatic qualifier for the 2015 and 2017 Solheim Cups.
